Workshop Description:

Does your child love the sparkle of night skies and the magic of glowing lights? 💫
In this dreamy, guided art session, kids will create their very own Midnight Fireflies painting — learning how to blend and shade using soft pastels to make their fireflies glow against the deep night sky.

Through step-by-step guidance, children will explore how colours, light, and movement come together to create magic on paper. They’ll experiment with blending, layering, and highlighting — discovering how simple soft pastels can bring texture, softness, and depth to their artwork.

This workshop also introduces kids to an often-overlooked but delightful art medium — soft pastels — perfect for mindful, expressive, and relaxing art-making. And the best part? They’ll take home a glowing piece of art that’s truly their own! 🌙✨

Session Plan

🪄 Introduction to Soft Pastels Magic (15 mins)
We’ll begin by exploring what soft pastels are and how artists use them to create glowing, dreamlike effects. Kids will see a quick demo on blending and layering to understand how light and colour interact.

🎨 Sketching & Blending the Scene (60 mins)
Next, children will sketch their night landscape and start blending rich blues, purples, and blacks to form a dreamy sky. Step by step, they’ll learn how to control pressure and direction to achieve smooth, radiant shading.

✨ Bringing the Fireflies to Life (30 mins)
Now comes the fun part — making the fireflies glow! Using yellows, whites, and soft greens, kids will add their glowing orbs of light and learn how to create a sense of sparkle and motion.

🌟 Wrap up, Quick Quiz & Feedback (15 mins)
We’ll end with a cheerful “art walk” where everyone’s glowing creations will be appreciated and celebrated. Kids will share what they loved most about working with soft pastels before we capture the moment with a group photo!

💛 Important Instructions

• Parents are requested to drop off and pick up after the session.
• Limited waiting outside our studio classroom; no waiting inside EuroKids reception or classrooms.
• Please arrive 5–10 minutes early so your child can settle in comfortably.
• Carry a water bottle and dress your child in comfortable clothes — it might get a little painty!
• Make sure your child eats well before the session as there won’t be a snack break.
• We’re located on the 2nd floor inside EuroKids Pre-School. If you face any difficulty, just ask the EuroKids staff or call us — we’ll be happy to guide you.
• If you’d prefer your child’s photos not to be shared on social media, simply inform us when you arrive.

🔄 Cancellation & Refund Policy

• If you can’t make it and let us know at least 24 hours in advance, we’d be happy to provide a credit to book another workshop within 60 days. You may also transfer your spot to another child well before 24 hours’ notice.
• Last-minute cancellations (less than 24 hours) or no-shows are non-refundable, as materials and facilitators are planned in advance.
