They’ll experiment with festive colors\, shapes\, and decorations\, and take home a glowing creation that adds warmth and beauty to their homes. \nThis workshop is a perfect blend of art\, tradition\, and self-expression\, designed to nurture focus\, patience\, and creativity — all while having fun! \nSession Plan:\nIntroduction to the theme (15 minutes) \nThe session will begin with an introduction to the theme. We will explain why Diwali — the Festival of Lights is celebrated. Children will also share what Diwali means to them\, setting a joyful and festive tone for the activity. \nHands-On Activity – Lantern Making (90 minutes) \nChildren will begin crafting their own lanterns\, experimenting with colors\, shapes\, and designs. Materials will be distributed\, and children will be briefed on safety\, handling tools\, and using decorative elements effectively. \nShowcase & Closing (15 minutes) \nOnce the lanterns are ready\, children will gather to showcase their creations. Facilitators will appreciate creativity\, neatness\, and originality\, helping boost children’s confidence and pride in their work. It’s a wonderful way for kids to celebrate the Festival of Lights while exploring India’s rich craft traditions in a fun and interactive way. \nThrough guided steps and easy-to-follow instructions\, participants will create beautiful Lippan-inspired designs using safe\, child-friendly materials. They’ll enjoy expressing their creativity while building focus\, patience\, and artistic confidence. By the end of the session\, each child will take home a unique festive masterpiece to light up their Diwali celebrations! \nIntroduction to the theme (15 minutes)\nThe session will begin with a introduction of the theme and share a short story about the origins of Lippan art from Gujarat — how it’s traditionally created using mud and mirrors to decorate village walls. \nHands-On Activity – Creating the Tea Light Holder (90 minutes)\nChildren will start crafting their tea light holders\, experimenting with patterns\, textures\, and vibrant festive colors. Facilitators will present a sample Lippan Art tea light holder and explain each step of the process. Materials will be distributed\, and safety and handling tips will be shared before children begin working on their own pieces. \nShowcase & Closing Group Photo (15 minutes)\nOnce the tea light holders are complete\, participants will gather to showcase their creations.
